The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a Plant Quality Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:


  • Leads quality improvement efforts within a medical device manufacturing facility. We are an International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 13485 and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 21 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) part 820 certified manufacturing location with a robust Quality Management System (QMS)

  • Implements solutions derived with the use of Lean Six Sigma methodology and Quality Engineering tools including Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes and statistical techniques

  • Determines best methods to communicate critical quality product features or performance factors to manufacturing associates utilizing innovative training methods

  • Supports a positive and collaborative team environment. As a key member of the technical team, you will participate on Six Sigma Green belt teams, represent the quality function on cross functional New Product teams and support our manufacturing associates with product and process understanding

  • Willingness to be on-call and support our 24-hour manufacturing schedule as needed. Project work may benefit from interaction with all team members including those on 2nd and 3rd shifts

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or higher within a science or engineering discipline from an accredited institution.

  • High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution and (4) four years in an Engineering or Technical role

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:


  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or related discipline from an accredited institution

  • Internship experience

  • Experience working in a medical device manufacturing environment

  • Experience with Quality Engineering

  • Certification(s), or willingness to obtain, such as: Six Sigma, American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or other related quality improvement certification

Work location: Onsite - Monrovia, CA

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic

Relocation Assistance: Will not be authorized

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $95,825 - $117,120, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
