Job Description:
This role involves conducting high-quality CT procedures with precision and care. The successful candidate will utilize their creativity, initiative, and independent judgment to perform a range of CT scans. Additionally, they will use ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes to ensure accurate and reliable results.
Job Qualifications:
•CT Registered by ARRT
Minimum Requirements:
•ARRT Registered Technologist
•Current Utah State Licensure (for positions in Utah)
•Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified for healthcare providers
•One Year of Experience in CT
Job Responsibilities:
•Ensure proper patient identification, verify orders, and prepare patients for exams.
•Conduct exams according to department protocols.
•Understand cross-sectional anatomy and demonstrate competency in anatomical positioning.
•Follow the ALARA program and adhere to radiation safety protocols.
•Critique own films to ensure quality.
•Complete studies within department time expectations without compromising patient care or exam quality.
•Demonstrate knowledge of protocols related to contrast administration.
•Administer oral barium products or intravenous contrast material under physician supervision.
•Practice appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.
•Provide patient education as needed and ensure patient comfort.
•Operate all CT equipment and related information systems to produce quality images.
•Exhibit working knowledge of contrast injectors and laser printers.
•Understand and proficiently use electronic imaging systems to view, transfer, and manipulate images.
•Thoroughly and accurately complete all required documentation, including time stamps and image storage.
•Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, and charging. Obtain consents if necessary, document any events for quality, maintain a current QC program for ACR, and report any equipment failures or problems.
