Description: Our client is currently seeking a Application Support Engineer for a W2 role.




Job Description:

  • As a Senior Application Support Engineer, you will be pivotal in maintaining the operational efficiency, stability, and availability of complex application systems.
  • Your contributions will be crucial to operational success, enhancing your expertise in incident management and DevOps, and making a lasting impact on delivering innovative solutions.


Responsibilities:

  • Utilize your skills in incident management processes and tools, application monitoring metrics, and tooling to generate reports and take corrective actions.
  • Navigate and understand complex application systems to debug business-impacting issues.
  • Adhere to standards and best practices to ensure operational efficiencies, stability, and system availability.
  • Employ continuous delivery practices to evolve, support, and deliver high-quality software, providing value to end customers as early as possible.
  • Work collaboratively in value-driven teams to build innovative customer experiences for clients.
  • Leverage knowledge of various logging techniques for alerting, monitoring, and identifying the root cause of incidents.
  • Efficiently use DevOps tools and practices to deploy and run software.
  • Mentor less experienced peers through your technical knowledge and leadership skills.


Requirements:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and a willingness to ask questions.
  • Ability to work with business users and other technology teams.
  • Capability to translate between business and technology teams.
  • Accountability for following up on support tickets and emails to resolution.
  • Confidence to challenge developers on Agile best practices and definitions of done during refinement sessions and QA testing.
  • Good time management skills to transition between various support issues, testing, and scrum master duties if necessary.
  • Familiarity with the Agile process and experience as a Scrum Master.
  • Ability to define requirements and manage waterfall/agile frameworks to meet complex business needs in accordance with SDLC guidelines.
  • Experience in independently executing large projects and leading other analysts.
  • Ability to break down complex business and technology terms to aid in collaborative problem-solving.
  • Demonstrate core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
  • Proven ability to understand strategic business requirements and translate them into strategic technology solutions across multiple lines of business.
  • Demonstrated experience with industry best practices and an understanding of different technologies.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with appropriate teams to expedite issue resolution and manage to SLAs.
  • Support and maintain infrastructure and applications using required tools and technologies.
  • Test infrastructure and application changes.
  • Establish priorities for enhancements/modifications.
  • Develop functional specifications for enhancements/modifications.
  • Participate in the application technical design process.
  • Develop programming specifications and may design, code, and unit test application code using SDLC best practices.
  • Complete estimates and work plans for design, development, implementation, and rollout tasks.
  • Monitor systems and management consoles for service interruptions or delays.
  • Monitor system performance and address infrastructure system failures.
  • Execute, log, and report break/fixes, changes, service requests, and support activities.
  • Follow documented processes and procedures to ensure infrastructure systems stability.
  • Maintain operational procedures, processes, and scripts.
  • Champion company standards and best practices, continuously improving software delivery processes and practices.
  • Build partnerships across application, business, and infrastructure teams.
