Summary

The Project Manager assists in conducting and managing analyses and projects that meet the strategic business objectives and goals of the division and involve banking practices and supervision. The Project Manager provides support to senior Project Managers and senior leadership by coordinating cross-functional teams through meetings and progress measurement activities. As appropriate, the Project Manager follows standard project management methodology (including tools, systems, and applications) and ensures all project documentation is up to date and communicated to relevant stakeholders. The Project Manager also assists in business process review and supports design sessions and documents the outcomes from these sessions using Visio and other software tools.Requires strong project management skills in addition to strong oral and written communication skills and analytical ability typically acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree. Requires at least three years of experience in bank and bank holding companies and knowledge of the financial and management practices of banking organizations as well as knowledge of examination, reporting, and other supervisory policies and procedures. Demonstrated use of current project management concepts, practices, and procedures is required including definition and adherence to scope, change management, scheduling, issue resolution and risk management requirements. Discretion and sensibility is required to maintain confidentiality in regards to assigned projects. Completion of Project Management Certification (CAPM or PMP) or equivalent programs is highly desirable (FR-25).

Remarks

The Operations Group in the Stress Testing National Program is responsible for creating, managing, and coordinating the operational elements of the Stress Testing Program. This position would primarily serve a program manager role in the Program and Project Function. The Function consists of a team of program and project managers responsible for supporting Program leadership, managing workstream and cross-functional projects, and overseeing day-to-day activities and initiatives across the Stress Testing Program to ensure that the Program can meet critical milestones and achieve strategic objectives.

The individual in this program manager role will have the following responsibilities:


  • Support Program leaders by advising on activities, identifying gaps, escalating issues, and coordinating decision-making.
  • Assists with the administration of Program committees and/or oversight groups, including planning, preparing agendas, managing meetings, maintaining documentation and records, and coordinating follow-ups.
  • Manages Program operational tasks and tools, including but not limited to centralized mailboxes and calendars, access, and SharePoint/Microsoft applications.
  • Provides project support for business planning, governance, and strategic initiatives.
  • Responds to requests from leadership, provides information or facilitates communications with Program participants, and tracks and resolves operational or technical issues, as needed.
  • Collaborates with senior team members to coordinate and manage cross-functional and Program-wide projects/processes to ensure critical Stress Test milestones are communicated and met.
  • Creates and revises operating procedures; defines processes and delivers training to users.

  • Strong personal initiative, with a willingness to identify gaps or challenges, navigate through uncertainty, and propose solutions.
  • Keen attention to detail and critical/logical thinking.
  • Must be able to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels in the organization.
  • Must have strong communication and collaboration skills with colleagues and principles across the Federal Reserve System, and ability to liaise with external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a matrixed reporting environment, interacting with and reporting to National Program leaders and also accountable to a local Board manager.
  • Familiarity and experience with SharePoint, Microsoft Project, and ability to run queries from a database preferred.

Professional program or project management certifications is a plus.

This position is located in Washington DC. Employees are expected to spend a minimum of 4 days per month or more as business dictates. During the month of June when getting ready for final disclosure, they may be on-site more.
