Job Description:

1. Prepare and serve food and meals in accordance with planned menus, diet plans, portion control and sanitary procedures.

2. Check and record food temperatures prior to serving.

3. Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.

4. Review menus. Make and record necessary substitutions.

5. Assure that food supplies or items are available for the next meal. Notify supervisor of needed supplies.

6. Assist in food preparation for special meals and parties.

7. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Clean up spills and other conditions as observed.

8. Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, according to assignment.

9. Ensure proper storage of food and supplies.

10. Use cleaners and other hazardous materials according to department procedure.

11. Follow facility fire safety and infection control practices.

12. Promptly report any unsafe conditions or equipment.

13. Greet residents, visitors, and staff courteously. Respect dignity and confidentiality standards and promote resident rights.
