Analysis, diagnosis, and repair mold to correct quality issues, or to improve mold functionality.
Maintains and repairs complex plastic injection mold systems
Assembly of complex molds to produce desired molded product configuration
Performs preventative maintenance on molds while maintaining records of work performed
Comprehensive understanding of the molding process, and machine operation necessary to troubleshoot root causes of problems.
Arburg and Milacron machine experience is desired.
Ability to adapt to Arburg and Milacron required.
Works with outside vendors for mold repairs beyond internal capabilities.
Quoting, requisitions, and purchasing of services
Submit timely and cost-justified parts orders to maintain molds for production demand
Provide regular updates to the tooling manager of mold conditions, requiring major repairs or rebuilds so capital costs can be budgeted and approved.
Maintain mold history files with accurate record keeping of maintenance performed.
Prepares part inventory for supply orders for the tooling manager
Dis-assemblies, cleans, and reassembles molds
Replaces broken, damaged, or excessively worn mold components.
Understands wear parts
Understand and execute the assembly of multi-part frame molds that produce more than one SKU
MUD frame molds
Comprehensive understanding of the injection molding process and how it relates to diagnosis and remedy
Comprehensive understanding of the injection molding process, the molds, and how these work together to produce quality products.
Works within the mold and process to support troubleshooting tasks
Capable of performing or learning to set and operate a molding machine(presses) enabling the individual to distinguish between a process, machine, or mold issue
Have the skill to classify root causes and action plans to remedy
Maintains 5s level work area
Required Skills:
Strong mechanical aptitude
Ability to discuss modifications
Ability to lead major changes or modifications, confidentiality
Strong aptitude around selection and use of hand tools
Associate's degree in a technology-related field or apprenticeship
