Position: Payroll Specialist (Temp to Hire)

Location: Sacramento, CA

Pay Range: $25 - $30 per hour

Employment Type: Temporary, with potential for permanent hire




Job Description:




We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist for a temporary-to-hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll processes, compliance regulations, and will thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team with the potential for permanent employment based on performance.




Key Responsibilities:




  • Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly).

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.

  • Prepare and maintain payroll records and reports.

  • Handle wage garnishments, 401(k) contributions, and other deductions.

  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer payroll-related questions.

  • Collaborate with HR and Accounting teams to ensure payroll accuracy and efficiency.

  • Assist in year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation.



Qualifications:




  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar payroll processing role.

  • Must have used LCP Tracker or DIR for any prevailing wage jobs.

  • Familiarity with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Paylocity) and timekeeping systems.

  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and accounting principles.

  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle sensitive information confidentially.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.

Pay $25 - $30 per hr.
