Brief Description of PSU/School/Dept | The Disability Resource Center (DRC) serves the mission of Portland State University (PSU) by providing access and educational opportunities to a population which has historically been disadvantaged in higher education: students with disabilities. DRC supports students with documented disabilities by providing reasonable and appropriate accommodations as required by State and Federal laws. The DRC promotes the development of student self-advocacy skills while maintaining fundamental academic and technical standards. The DRC supports PSU’s mission and values. The DRC focuses on a social justice and universal design model of inclusion when working with the university and students with disabilities. |

Position Summary | The Interpreting Captioning Note Taker Coordinator (ICNTC) supports this mission by overseeing the coordination and provision of Note Taking, Media Captioning services, American Sign Language Interpreting (ASL), and Real-Time Captioning services. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of providing timely, accurate services to students with disabilities in compliance with the ADA, 504 and other applicable State and Federal laws. |
Minimum Qualifications from Classification | - two years of experience as an administrative specialist or executive support specialist which included administrative support for a project, program, or operation. Administrative support includes those duties beyond clerical/secretarial such as: interpretation of laws, rules, and regulations; administrative data collection and analysis; and evaluation of projects, processes, and operations; OR - an equivalent combination of training and experience. One year of postsecondary education may be substituted for up to one year of the experience. |
Additional Minimum Qualifications for this Position |
Three years of secretarial or administrative support experience that includes coordinating office procedures, preparing narrative and statistical reports, and administrative data collection and analysis; OR An associate degree in general office occupations and two years of secretarial or administrative support experience that includes coordinating office procedures, preparing narrative and statistical reports, and administrative data collection and analysis; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement | The starting annual salary rate for this position will be between $3,492 and $3,984. The starting salary may be negotiable above this range, however it will be dependent upon the knowledge, experience, skills and abilities of the chosen candidate, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR. PSU’s excellent benefits package includes 95% premium paid healthcare; a generous retirement and vacation package; and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse or dependent at any of the Oregon Public Universities |
