Job Description Summary
The University of South Alabama’s One-Stop department is seeking to hire a One-Stop Counselor, Communications. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.
Essential Functions These are the job duties required of the position.
Directly supports student efforts to successfully transition to USA and reach their completion goals, providing guidance to applicants and students who need additional support to navigate the student experience.
Serves as an integral part of the USA One Stop physical location and call center and will be cross-trained in multiple functions across campus.
Assists the Assistant Manager, Communications in developing and managing a communication strategy and timeline for One Stop, as needed.
Assists in the development and implementation of One Stop campaigns utilizing a variety of mechanisms including, but not limited to, email, text, and social media.
Assists in tracking data, building reports and using this information to enhance communication strategy.
Assists in the creation, management and implementation of a social media strategy, timeline, and content for departmental social media accounts.
Answers incoming phone calls and live chats regarding federal financial aid, student account services, and questions related to other student services areas as needed.
Directs calls to other areas as applicable.
Logs communications with students in the database as needed for audit trail purposes.
Provides additional support to the One Stop team by assisting in the efforts of student success through daily operations, training and South CARES programming, as needed.
Provides accurate information quickly, efficiently, and with a positive attitude by demonstrating a high level of communication skills and extensive knowledge with those you are working with to ensure they feel supported.
Exceeds expectations and ensures calls and visits are managed with a student-first mentality.
Attends and participates in scheduled events during and after office hours as needed.
Participates in extended office hours as scheduled during the year.
Participates in or leads department and division committees as assigned.
Provides general office support that assists in the functioning of the office.
Regular and prompt attendance.
Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required.
Related duties as required.
