The Expedia Tagging and Taxonomy Team is seeking a creative, intellectually curious, motivated Program Manager III. Tagging and Taxonomy are foundational technical components of Expedia Marketing infrastructure that allow both detailed measurement of marketing campaigns and large-scale data gathering to occur across all Expedia Marketing channels. These tools allow Expedia to efficiently find new customers - Search Engine Marketing, Metasearch, Affiliate relationships, etc. We process huge data sets and output this data for both real-time purposes (i.e., tailoring our website) and for analytics purposes.

You will own and drive the life cycle of new features from high level concept to design to operational delivery and beyond. You will be responsible for coordinating business and technical components to ensure delivery of high-quality products on time, working directly with a hardworking team of product owners, developers, and marketers who are responsible for building applications and services for the world's largest travel agency. What You'll Do

  • Turn high-level project objectives into a comprehensive set of tasks by leading intensive, multi-discipline, organizing sessions.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to identify feature details and elaborate in detail tasks.
  • Handle trade-offs effectively between cost/schedule versus business benefit.
  • Work with developers, testers, other technology teams, and operations during implementation. Facilitate release of features to production and coordinate problem resolution once the new feature has gone live.
  • Clearly communicate project updates, risks and issues to partners and senior management.
  • Understand and actively advance standard methodologies (e.g. Agile/Scrum, Continuous Delivery).
  • Encourage common goals and get results across teams.

Who You Are

  • Technical degree and 5+ years in a project management, product management, or program management role, in a technical capacity.
  • Strong Program Management and Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, and Kanban) experience
  • High degree of proficiency with project management including issue and risk identification and management, tracking dependencies and project achievements, and communication of overall status.
  • Experience with large scale, sophisticated, multi-tier web applications.
  • Experience with Cloud Computing (i.e., AWS ).
  • Ability to creatively solve difficult business/technology problems.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects at a time, prioritize workload effectively, and thrive in a dynamic and complex environment.
  • Strong business insight.
  • Experience with the full SDLC and shipping software using Agile methodologies.
  • Successfully worked with cross functional teams to drive the implementation of both new features as well as resolving operational issues.
  • Familiarity with web product development and understanding of typical technology architecture for high-volume web sites.

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $137,500.00 to $192,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $220,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
