Director - Record-To-Report Global Process Owner
We seek a dynamic Director for the Record-To-Report Global Process Leader role, responsible for modernizing and optimizing key financial processes, including General Ledger Accounting, Financial Close, Consolidation, Financial Reconciliations, and GAAP Reporting. This leader will play a critical role in the Finance Transformation program to leverage the capabilities of Oracle Cloud Finance. The role entails designing future-state policies, processes, and reporting to elevate the Accounting Function of Expedia Group.
What you'll do:
Develop an in-depth understanding of EG's Record-to-Report roadmap while understanding interconnected processes like Bookings-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Hire-to-Retire, FP&A, Tax, and Treasury.
Lead the redesign of critical processes, including the Chart of Accounts, legal structure simplification, legal consolidation, and intercompany accounting.
Spearheaded a continuous financial close process implementation, partnering with the Oracle Cloud technology team to develop a comprehensive roadmap and execution plan.
Transition from static, manual analysis to dynamic dashboards and trend analysis for better decision-making around reserves and provisions.
Reduce the reliance on reclassification and manual journal entries by automating SOX controls.
Address the root causes behind data inefficiencies within global accounting through dashboard design and transactional reconciliation process implementation.
Business Partnership: Collaborate with senior business, product, and technology leaders to drive process improvement strategies that align with organizational objectives. Ensure solutions are scalable to support new capabilities enabled by the Expedia Travel Platform.
Domain Expertise: Develop a technology strategy that enhances operational processes and drives cost efficiencies across the Global Financial Reporting function. Provide insights into Record-to-Report processes that enhance user adoption, customer satisfaction, and financial oversight.
Process Improvement: Utilize Six Sigma or similar methodologies to identify and implement process improvements. Experience in Finance automation and transformation is essential.
Leadership and Communication: Build strong internal relationships and communicate effectively at all management levels. Mentor and develop talent in alignment with enterprise goals and priorities.
CPA or equivalent with substantial relevant work experience.
15+ years of finance and/or accounting experience with at least 10 years in progressive managerial roles.
Extensive experience in Finance Transformation and Consulting (10-15 years preferred).
Proficiency in process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean.
Experience with emerging finance technologies and automation opportunities.
Proven ability to drive benefit realization from finance process and technology optimization.
Ability to establish and maintain strong partnerships between Finance, Product, and IT.
Strong strategic and analytical thinking skills with a results-oriented approach.

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $221,000.00 to $309,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $353,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
