Lean Manufacturing Coordinator
LOCATION

REPORTS TO
Production Manager
PURPOSE
Lead and manage lean manufacturing and 6S, for the primary machines, in the Iowa City facility.
JOB SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree, or combination of education and experience to equal.
• 4 to 6 years of manufacturing experience.
• Previous experience in lean/6S principals.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Must be self motivated and able to lead and drive change.
• Solid computer skills.
• Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of extrusion coating, silicone coating, printing and slitting processes preferred.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead implementation and maintenance of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
• Lead 6S implementation and maintenance in area of responsibility.
• Train, mentor, and coach employees in lean manufacturing and 6S concepts.
• Assist with equipment and process troubleshooting.
• Coach and mentor employees on troubleshooting, equipment, and quality skills.
• Utilize continuous improvement tools to implement process improvements that will reduce changeover times, waste, internal rejections, or improve throughput.
• Develop and report appropriate metrics to drive improvement and sustain progress.
• Investigate and implement corrective actions for quality or customer defects, process failures, or safety incidents/near misses.
• Implement and maintain LDDS Boards and reporting per Loparex global standards.
• Actively participate in safety committees.
