Success requires education, training, and experience in the fields of occupational safety and health necessary to lead effective and compliant programs and initiatives, including experience with behavior-based programs and concepts, effective training techniques, in-depth risk assessments, injury management that balances standard of care and recordability protection, HSSE&S program implementation, personnel management, leadership development, site management, supervisor engagement, client interaction, management of change, counsel and coaching, and assessment and reporting of leading and lagging Key Performance Indicators, and other commensurate HSSE experience.
Key Accountabilities:
Positively influence Service Line projects through planning, action, and conviction in the human system of safety management. Continually improve HSSE&S performance through implementation and reporting of predictive KPIs. Develop and advance the expertise and capability of all HSSE&S project personnel. Implement training and competency programs that validate knowledge through action. Track and trend HSSE&S performance at the project level. Ensure corrective actions are identified, addressed, and resolved to prevent recurrence. Communicate at every opportunity.
Responsibilities:
Support the Wood enterprise HSSE&S initiatives and programs
Review, and have a complete understanding, of existing Wood policies and procedures
Assist in the development of new HSSE&S policies and procedures to meet enterprise needs
Implement project HSSE&S execution plans
Compile data and report KPIs to assess HSSE&S field performance
Ensure projects meet all enterprise and RE&P HSSE&S assurance protocols
Participate, and lead, in HSSE&S Incident investigations and root cause analysis processes, and prepare required report(s) and make presentations as required
Track corrective actions for assigned project and communicate trends and corrective actions
Assist in the planning, recognition, evaluation, and mitigation of risk to the assigned project
Gain knowledge and understanding of applicable legislative, client, and Wood requirements for the assigned project
Engage in the HSSE&S training process
Communicate effectively and regularly with Wood employees, supervision, and occasional client interaction
Ensure injury care is provided for employees and case management for all work-related incidents or illnesses
Implement the Wood Drug & Alcohol Program
Support the needs of RE&P HSSE&S department
Maintain a detailed understanding of construction work practice means-and-methods
Manage large, complex capital construction projects
Manage the project assigned HSSE&S team
Maintain a thorough understanding of construction regulatory requirements under 29 CFR 1926

QUALIFICATIONS
Nationally recognized certifications (CSP, ASP, CHST, or OHST), OSHA 500, or degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related field
Possess a minimum of 8 years of progressive performance responsibility within the HSSE&S field
Ability to safely navigate construction sites
Established experience managing large, complex capital construction projects
Demonstration of competency to manage multiple HSSE teams and projects
CPR/AED/First Aid certification
Additional leadership or HSSE&S based continuing education
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated leadership skills
High level of integrity for reporting, as well as upholding enterprise policy
Proven ability to self-direct and complete tasks on-time with minimal oversight
Ability to objectively audit compliance in the workplace
Must possess a working knowledge of Microsoft programs (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook)
Willingness to travel on a schedule and in a manner required by Wood
