Job Description:

The Pineapple Agency is seeking a talented and experienced CAD Designer with a minimum of 5 years of expertise in their field with a focus on the custom fabrication industry, particularly in scenic, festivals, experiential, and staging design. As an integral part of the CAD team, you will play a crucial role in transforming creative concepts into visually stunning and technically feasible designs for festivals and events. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CAD software, a keen eye for detail, and a proven track record of successfully bringing innovative designs to life in the festival, exhibit, staging, and scenic fabrication domain.

What you'll do: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including producers, production managers, and creative teams, to understand project requirements and design objectives. Create detailed and accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings, models, and renderings for festival environments, scenic elements, experiential activations, staging setups. building shop drawings and exploded views for shop fabrication. Ensure designs align with client expectations, technical specifications, and safety regulations, providing practical solutions while maintaining the creative vision. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and materials to incorporate innovative elements into festival designs. Work closely with production teams to communicate design intent, address challenges, and provide necessary documentation for construction and implementation. Collaborate with fabricators, suppliers, and contractors to source materials and ensure the feasibility of design concepts within budget constraints. Conduct on-site visits and inspections to oversee the installation of designed elements, troubleshooting any issues that may arise during the construction phase. Participate in design reviews, client presentations, and project meetings to gather feedback and make necessary adjustments to designs.

What you have: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a CAD Designer in the custom scenic/exhibit fabrication industry. Please do not apply if you do not meet this requirement. Understanding of the fabrication environment, including materials and units of measurement knowledge. Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, MicroVellum, or similar tools, with a strong ability to create accurate and detailed drawings. Strong understanding of scenic design and staging principles. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Detail-oriented with a keen eye for aesthetics and practicality. Knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and fabrication processes. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines. A portfolio showcasing previous festival and staging design projects is highly desirable. Leadership experience is a plus!

Work Environment: This position will be expected to be available and commute to the North Las Vegas warehouse, Monday through Thursday for four 10-hour shifts. This position may be expected to work evenings, holidays, and weekends if needed. As a note - this position may encounter situations in which the ability to freely access all points of a fabrication shop in wide-ranging temperatures, physical and audible conditions, and environments is required. Additionally, this role will be expected to be willing and able to work in a physically demanding environment, including operating heavy machinery, lifting objects ~50lbs+, light carpentry and fabrication work, and metalwork. Compensation: This position is full-time and pays a competitive salary, dependent on experience.
