Draftsman will manage the drafting system used in the generation of all designs in the engineering department. They will assist other departments in establishing and optimizing the software add-ons needed to improve configuration and documentation control.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Demonstrate capability to master all facets of 3-D concepts, drafting rules and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
Demonstrate proficiency of SolidWorks and Pro-E Creo.
Maintain software and/or hardware to maximize performance of our current CAD system
Master the current part number structuring system and be actively involved in improving all technical documentation systems
Master the current Configuration Control System.
Assist other department in implementing CAD communication software to improve productivity
Demonstrate the ability to manage and document the evolution of the assigned design.
Possess good technical communication and organizational skills
Demonstrate intermediate skills with MS Office Suite (e.g. Outlook, Excel, etc.)
Create and maintain standard work and best practices for drafting and modeling standards
Demonstrate the ability to perform tolerance stack-ups (including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and basic drawing and design checking
Perform regular Engineering Change Order (ECO) processing, including ECO document preparation, submission and drafting support. Be able to use, change and create configurations in the Made2Manage ERP system
Participate in cost-reduction and LEAN projects, and provide support to various function towers, including but not limited to Sales, Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, and Strategic Sourcing
Assist Design Engineering as required for processing drawing, process and testing updates
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS & PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Associate Degree in Mechanical Design and Drafting
2 years (5 preferred) experience in Design or Drafting
Any acceptable combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and two (2) or more years (5 preferred) of successful, progressively responsible journey to advanced drafting experience. Or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities
High attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to collaborate with inter-departmental teams
Experience with SharePoint is preferred
