This position is responsible for purchasing ingredients to support the company needs for operations and distribution. In this position, the candidate will have a major impact on the business' financial performance. A qualified individual will be an agent for change who will lead reviewing processes, evaluating suppliers, comparing costs, building relationships, and recommending sound decisions on cost savings and strategy for purchasing. The ideal candidate must be self-driven, detail oriented, and a supportive team player with natural initiative and clear communication skills.
Position Purpose:
Execution of day-to-day purchasing activities to high performance standards which include but not limited to running and interpreting MRP output, creating purchase orders, following up on vendor confirmations and coordination with Logistics on inbound delivery expectations.
Lead in contract negotiations with vendors and suppliers to drive competitive cost advantages, outcomes and results.
Identify potential supply partners based on quality, cost, reliability and customer service.
Maintain and further develop outstanding relationships with both existing and new suppliers.
Analyze each and every buying opportunity.
Review and communicate pricing and supply concerns to Sales; escalate issues when they arise.
Effective collaboration with R & D, Sales, Quality, Logistics and Production.
Maintain and update MRP master data.
Implement process improvements and standardization to existing purchasing processes and delivery systems.
Identify raw material challenges and provide recommendations to minimize or eliminate their potential impact.
Maintain a strong knowledge of ingredient and seasoning categories.
Meet KPIs as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities/Education:
Bachelor's in Business Administration or a related field.
4+ years' experience in procurement;
food industry experience preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite;
Microsoft Dynamics GP and/or SAP experience a plus.
A great team player with a passionate drive to be successful.
Working knowledge of negotiation techniques in the industry.
High attention to detail
Excellent time management skills.
Strong understanding of the market conditions and trends.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to review data, analyze spreadsheets, and retain data.
Ability to use office equipment to navigate communication with various departments

Details:
Schedule: Office hours -Monday to Friday-Office hours 8:30-5:00. Hybrid schedule available. May consider remote for out of state candidates.
Pay: 75K-95K based on experience
