The current employee work arrangement for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.
The PruScore Empower Team is a highly integrated cross-discipline team responsible for driving value creation between data science, underwriting, assumption development, pricing, product strategy, and customer experience. PruScore is Prudential’s new cutting-edge underwriting process that will be used to unlock a superior customer experience within our Target Markets by creating an easy, less invasive and highly personalized approach to acquiring life insurance. The Actuarial Assumption role will be responsible for assumption development for all policies issued through the PruScore ecosystem for both Pricing and Reserving.
What you can expect:
The Associate Actuary will be a key member of the PruScore Empower Team and support alignment toward the overarching goal of improving the value of new business and transforming the way Prudential prices insurance risks. Close collaboration with data science experts will guide the development of our machine learning based risk assessment tools so that they can be optimized for our product offerings and target markets. This role will work with Pricing experts to ensure that our products are priced appropriately and competitively in the market.
As the Empower Team will be developing new processes, there will be heightened focus on educating key stakeholders, managing risk/audit reviews, and navigating governance paths. All, or a portion, of the Empowered Team will be within the New Way of Working (NWoW) framework.
What you’ll need:
• Experience developing mortality/longevity assumptions required along with experience using traditional actual/expected methodology, GLM, or data science methods
• Ability to own/drive deliverables, manage time, and collaborate are required
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Progress towards Actuarial accreditation (Associate or Fellowship) preferred
• Experience with actuarial modeling and analysis tools (e.g., Longevitas) a plus
• Strong programming background with deep understanding of various tools and languages along with large data/database processing skills would be a plus including experience in Microsoft SQL; Python; and Power BI

The salary range for this role is from $115,800.00 to $172,300.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
