Position:

Lone Rock Resources is seeking a Forester with a focus either on Logging Administration or Silviculture to work on our 35,000 acre Southern Division Tree Farm in Jackson County, Oregon.  The successful candidate will join a team of hardworking, talented, and dedicated individuals who thrive in performing exceptional work in a productive environment. The successful candidate will be based out of our Central Point, OR field office. 

 

Primary Job Duties (Logging Administration):

• Harvest unit and road construction analysis and layout
• Logging contract preparation and administration
• Assistance with district silvicultural activities

 

Primary Job Duties (Silviculture):

• Performance and administration of all silvicultural activities including planting, herbicide application, pre-commercial thinning, animal damage control, fertilization, and young plantation exams
• Assistance with district logging administration activities

 

Primary Job Duties (both positions)

• Communication and relationship building with neighbors and government agencies
• Prescribed burning and wildland firefighting
• Budgeting

 

 Required Qualifications:

• Committed to live in Jackson County
• The ability to work both independently and to work well with others
• Working knowledge of logging systems and equipment capabilities or working knowledge of silvicultural systems
• Basic knowledge of the Oregon Forest Practices Act
• Ability to travel to job locations over a large area
• Valid driver’s license and good driving history

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of field experience in a forestry related field
• Associates or higher degree in forestry or related field
• Working knowledge of GIS and Microsoft Excel and Word
