Job Description:

Direct Supervisor: Operations Manager
Direct Reports: Warehouse Personnel and Drivers

Job Summary: The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for managing and supervising warehouse personnel, and the activities relating to material handling, including but not limited to shipping and receiving functions, inventory control and cycle counts, transportation scheduling and logistics, and material storage. They will manage the departments budget including but not limited to labor and transportation costs.

Education & Experience:
Must have a minimum of 5 years of Warehouse Experience, preferably with mid-large manufacturing.Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in a Supervisory/Managerial role.High School Diploma Required, AA in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain a plus.Extensive experience in product distribution, logistics including inventory management for both raw and finished products.Must be experienced in routing and delivery cost analysis.Must have experience in negotiating inbound / outbound freight as well as truck lease costs.Experience in managing food products including refrigerated, frozen, and ambient temperature for shelf life, FIFO as well as food safety compliance.SQF experience in food safety/inventory controls a plus.Strong inventory control experience, cycle counting, etc.Experience with Forklift, Electric Lift, Pallet Jacks.Must have a valid CA Drivers license and be able to drive any delivery vehicle requiring a class C Drivers license.

Bilingual English and Spanish a plus.Ability to multitask and work under pressure and time constrained situations and adapt to quickly changing priorities across multiple projects.Flexibility to oversee and operate at multi-company level.Strong follow-through, integrity, and sound judgment.Adept at working independently and cross-functionally, managing multiple projects and short timelines, and working in fast-paced environment. Essential Functions/ Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Safety Standards and Guidelines at all times.
Ensures compliance with company safety and food safety policies and procedures.Responsible for overseeing activity for three shifts for the warehouse Department; properly scheduling and managing resources to ensure 24-hour coverage to ship and receive product.Responsible for delegating the workload of all warehouse personnel so that each team member always remains busy and productive.Responsible for establishing and maintaining a highly organized and efficient warehouse operation.Responsible for managing the drivers including auditing time logs and balancing work hours, updating the company Timekeeping System, evaluating, and updating truck routes and calculating costs, improving route efficiency, documenting product returns, maintaining excellent communication with the drivers to resolve issues, scheduling trucks for repairs and maintenance and for ensuring that trucks are maintained in good repair and inspected as per Cal OSHA and DOT requirements.Responsible for working with the Purchasing Manager to coordinate all incoming deliveries as well as outgoing shipments, ensuring that quantities are correct, and that the product meets the quality requirements.Responsible for ensuring that all paperwork (orders, bill of ladings, S&R logs, reports, etc.), documents (vehicle and forklift inspections, QA hold tags, pallet exchange logs, pick lists, etc.) are properly completed with accurate information and that its submitted to the appropriate person or that it is logged in the appropriate binder or file in a timely manner.Responsible for implementing and enforcing company safety policies and procedures. Ensure that all forklift operators are properly trained and certified, ensuring that all personnel follow all company safety rules such as proper lifting, making sure trucks are properly blocked (tire chucks) before loading/unloading, etc. Works closely with EH&S Manager to ensure safety compliance.Responsible for managing all personnel in the warehouse department: for evaluating performance, for ensuring that everyone is properly trained and for holding team members accountable. Responsible for setting department goals, expectations, and work standards, for establishing procedures for all to follow and for setting a good example regarding work ethic and productivity.Responsible for taking disciplinary actions, coaching and counseling, and training of the warehouse personnel as needed.Responsible for setting strategy so that the warehouse department can quickly adapt to change to fit company needs.Responsible for organizing the warehouse so that every space if efficiently utilized.Responsible for constantly finding better ways to manage the department so that the materials loss, direct labor cost and 3rd party service costs are kept to a minimum.Responsible for ensuring that the warehouse is always kept clean and organized and that storage and handling comply with 3rd party food auditor standards such as NSF and SQF.Responsible for managing department budgets, including labor costs for drivers and warehouse personnel and reduction of overtime.Responsible for managing costs for both inbound and outbound freight, for delivery route costs and truck and trailer upkeep as well as maintenance costs.Responsible for working with the Purchasing Manager to manage raw materials inventory levels, for establishing minimum/maximum levels and for managing same using FIFO practices.Responsible for working with production planning to manage finished product inventory levels and for managing the same using FIFO practices.Responsible for tracking and reporting inventory losses in both raw and finished products.Responsible for ensuring that raw materials meet internal quality specifications before receiving and accepting incoming shipments, that the materials are properly identified to allow for traceability in case of recall. Ensure the same practices for finished product outbound shipments.Responsible for following and complying with all SQF requirements.Maintains workstations per SQF guidelines.Responsible for 3rd party storage & shipping locations, maintaining adequate inventory levels, making sure pickups from Mi Rancho facility are on time and ensures deliveries to customers from third party locations are on time.Responsible for assuring Co-packing locations have all materials needed as well as maintaining adequate inventory levels, and coordinates deliveries and pick-ups from their locations.Responsible for coordinating Backhauls to maximize the efficiency of delivery trucks after dropping off Mi Rancho loads.Responsible to control inventory control adjustments to a minimum in TGI.Responsible for always maintaining warehouse audit ready.Other duties as assigned.
