Description: Analyst, Vendor Incentives



Summary: We are seeking a dynamic Analyst to support our Vendor Incentives team based in the US and India. The ideal candidate will have experience in analyzing contractual incentive programs for vendors or other key stakeholders. This role involves ensuring accurate and timely recording of vendor incentive transactions and associated analysis of periodic activities.



Responsibilities:

• Perform analytical reviews and interpret financial data, providing understandable explanations to non-financial business partners.


• Prepare vendor incentive income calculations, analyses, and period-end journal entries/reconciliations to ensure the general ledger accurately reflects income recognition and vendor receivables.


• Ensure vendor incentive allowances are collected regularly based on contractual terms.


• Review purchase projections to ensure accurate revenue recognition, comparing future projections to historical purchase volumes and current year-to-date activity.


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Merchandising, Procurement, and Accounts Payable, to identify any variables unknown to vendor incentives accounting.


• Reconcile vendor-reported purchases with AAP queried net purchases to ensure proper income recognition and determine if reserves are necessary.

Qualifications:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, AS/400, and Oracle.


• Solid understanding of US GAAP and other accounting principles.


• Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a related field.


• Experience in vendor management or incentive programs is a plus.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.


• Master's degree is a plus.
