Job Role Summary
The Parking Services Attendant welcomes and assist guests upon arrival and departure. The attendant oversees the flow of traffic at the main entrance and garage entrance of the hospital. This position also maintains the parking garage and surface lots. The Parking Services Attendant proactively contributes to Eskenazi Health's mission: Advocate, Care, Teach and Serve with special emphasis on the vulnerable population of Marion County; and models Eskenazi Health's values of Professionalism, Respect, Innovation, Development and Excellence.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Provide a professional, welcoming, safe and secure arrival and departure for patients and visitors
Assist guests with parking Kiosks
Aid guests by opening doors and assisting in or out of wheelchairs and aiding with other DME
Direct traffic in the parking areas to ensure a non-congested, safe, and smooth flow
Answer guest's questions regarding local attractions, directions, or other available services
Maintains the entrances by ensuring all trash, linin, and debris is removed
Maintains appropriate number of wheelchairs for the entrances making sure they are available for patients
Exercises independent judgment in critical, emergency situations
Assists patients with finding their vehicle if lost
Aid with wayfinding and directions
Staffs the parking office and assist new hires and specialty parking permits
Assist supervisors with gate and intercom assessment and repair
Maintains appropriate logs/records
Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Indiana driver's license that meets Eskenazi Health driving standards preferred
Completion of CPR certification within 1 months of employment
EVOC certification within 6 months of hire as made available by IEMS
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excellent judgment and ability to prioritized and handle multiple requests calmly and effectively
Basic English reading and writing skills; bilingual is desired but not required
Knowledge of hospital layout and procedures; some knowledge of equipment handling
Good reasoning ability
Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures
Promptness, empathy and genuine interest as perceived by patients, co-workers and staff
Ability to assess patient needs
Must be able to follow written/verbal instructions
Flexible to changing work priorities/schedules
