We are seeking a motivated IT Technical Associate to join our team. In this role, you will work collaboratively with the IT help desk, clients, and other IT personnel to troubleshoot incidents and ensure the smooth operation of our production systems. Your responsibilities will include documenting issues and resolutions, monitoring system backups, and providing second-tier support for hardware and software.


Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support:

  • Collaborate with the ITS Help Desk, clients, and IT personnel to troubleshoot incidents effectively.
  • Provide second-tier support for production systems, resolving issues and ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Respond promptly to email and Teams communications, ensuring timely support.
Documentation:
  • Document incidents, resolutions, existing workflows, and system configurations in the ticketing system.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of system changes and updates for future reference.
Hardware Management:
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues associated with systems.
  • Replace hardware components as necessary to maintain system functionality.
System Administration:
  • Monitor system and SQL database backup logs to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Maintain basic workflows and scripts, adjusting as needed to optimize operations.
  • Process security and access requests, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
Professional Development:
  • Stay current with industry standards and best practices by reading list-servs, vendor documentation, and internal guidelines.
  • Engage with advanced IT staff and functional users to enhance your technical application knowledge.
  • Attend relevant online webinars to further develop your skills and expertise.

Typical Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 1. Any combination totaling 1 year from the following categories:
    a) progressively more responsible work experience in IT-related profession
    b) college course work in Information Technology (IT), IT Management, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following
    Conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
    * 60 semester hours or Associate’s Degree equals one year
    * 90-120 semester hours or Bachelor’s Degree equals two years
    AND
    2. The following department specified requirements:
    a) Working knowledge of computer operating systems (UNIX/Linux, Windows, and MacOS) and peripherals in a networked environment.
    b) Ability to handle and resolve ticket-based requests and incidents without direction while continuing independent projects.
    c) Ability to communicate technical issues to a non-technical audience.
