MACHINE OPERATOR

GANNETT PUBLISHING SERVICES
AUBURN, MA

We are offering a starting salary of up to $21.00 per hour.

PURPOSE:
Effective daily operation of an inserting equipment, Inkjet equipment and auxiliary equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set up and operation of insertion and ink jet equipment on a regular basis.

• Perform regular preventive maintenance on equipment as scheduled.

• Monitor and maintain accuracy/quality while operating equipment.Continually perform quality control checks on all production runs.

• Training of assistant machine operators as needed.

• Set up and operate related DC equipment effectively as needed (i.e strappers, stackers, fork truck, power jack, etc.).

• Operate your equipment safely at all times.

• Locate and stage product for insertion/distribution.

• Maintain a neat and clean work area.

• Adhere to all company and corporate policies and regulations.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Supervisory skills.Ability to direct an insertion crew effectively.

• Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment.Ability to bend and lift up to 50lbs. at a high level of repetition.

• Good mechanical skills. Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Good monitoring skills.Good follow through.

• Basic PC skills.

• Employee must be a team player with good interpersonal skills, communication skills, and demonstrated willingness to work with others.
