Aluminum Extrusion Supervisor at The Judge Group Inc. in Gulfport, Mississippi

Job Description:

Location: Gulfport, MS

Salary: $65,000.00 USD Annually - $75,000.00 USD Annually

Description: Our metals manufacturing client that has been in business for 50+ years is currently seeking a Extrusion Supervisor for their operations not far from New Orleans. To qualify for this role you must have experience with Aluminum extrusion and be willing to work a 3pm-11pm Monday to Friday shift. This is a union plant so they would also like someone who has experience working with union employees.


This is a salaried role but there is also regularly the chance for work on Saturdays and you would be paid for a full days work on that 6th day. Relocation assistance is being offered and there is a discretionary bonus.


This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.


• Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.


• Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.


• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.


• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.


• Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase productivity of shop, department, or work crew.


• Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.


• Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.


• Maintains time and production records.


• Requisitions materials.


• Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.


• Performs activities of workers supervised.


• Follows safe work procedures

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 
  


• Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training.


• Experience with manufacturing and quality systems and their applications in a production environment


• Must have experience dealing with Aluminum extrusion


• Knowledge of customer engineering, quality and delivery requirements,


• Understanding of OSHA and other applicable laws,


• A proven record of continuous improvement in quality, productivity, safety, and housekeeping, and computer literacy strongly desired.
