Location/Division Specific Information
The Senior Data Science and Machine Learning Internship position provides an opportunity for students who are currently pursuing a computer science, electrical engineering, bioinformatics, or similar degree to get hands on experience working with scientists and software engineers in a fast-paced research and development environment. The intern will participate in building and integrating explainability into machine learning pipelines and infrastructure for better user trust. The position starts in May or June, paid working 40 hours per week through summer.

Working in a core R&D group supporting Data Science and Machine Learning work for the business

Brainstorming new improvements to streamline current techniques

Keys to Success:
Education
Currently enrolled in a master's program or a Ph.D. program
Experience
Knowledge about data science and machine learning
Cloud pipeline development and deployment of machine learning models
Performance evaluation of machine learning models
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Proficient in Python or related and willing to learn
Modern Data Science and Machine Learning technologies
Knowledge of cloud computing with AWS
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
Work environment is an in-office stable 9 to 5 with some flexibility. The work itself is supported by a team effort in which we encourage engagement from a pool of different contributors in order to develop useful tools that will further progress our common goal of supporting genetic science research and development.

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $20.00-$32.50.
