JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Tax Manager is a key member of the Nabors Tax Department - focused on helping Nabors succeed and grow.  The position is a highly visible one responsible for managing the quarterly and annual U.S. tax provisions and worldwide consolidation processes (ASC 740), including reporting, controls and assisting auditors; as well as overseeing U.S. and state income tax compliance, ensuring that all activities are properly reported to taxing authorities, consulting with internal clients and assisting with federal/state audits.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead quarterly and annual U.S. tax provision processes and worldwide consolidation, including review, processes, controls, tax account reconciliations, SEC disclosures, external auditor communication and documentation.


• Assist with quarterly Pillar 2 analysis.


• Responsible for U.S. quarterly and annual provisions (ASC 740), including tax basis balance sheet and return to provision analysis.


• Manage tax compliance process for U.S. federal and state income taxes as well as franchise taxes to ensure proper reporting to tax authorities.


• Assist with audit defense of federal and state tax returns.


• Planning, research, and project support as required.


• Assist with process improvement initiatives and team development.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.


• 8+ years in a large corporate and/or Big 4 tax department working with complex tax issues.


• Multiple years ASC 740 experience, including leading consolidations and reporting.


• Multiple years compliance management experience.


• Ability to efficiently utilize PC software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio), tax preparation software (OneSource Tax Provision / OneSource Income Tax), and tax research tools.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Masters degree in Tax.


• CPA.


• Experience with Alteryx, Oracle, Hyperion, & OneSource Tax Provision and OneSource Income Tax tools.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS 

• Office environment. (Currently Hybrid – 3 days per week in office).
