This position is permanent, W2 position and will consist of a hybrid schedule. The Desktop Support Specialist must be local to the DMV area.


Opportunity:


TAYS is seeking a Desktop Support Specialist of all levels to join our dynamic team! The Desktop Support Specialist will to contribute to the maintaining of technical equipment and various projects within a federal agency. This role requires a qualified candidate with robust analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, coupled with a keen attention to detail.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to maintain the availability and reliability of the company network, PC, and software problems to resolutions.
  • Support users both onsite and in remote locations.
  • Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot LAN performance and security.
  • Image, configure and deploy workstations and laptops.
  • Troubleshoot desktops and network printers.
  • Create new users' accounts and groups, manage security settings and access controls/permissions for groups and users.
  • Provide support for problem resolution, support consultation, administration, and training for technical matters relating to the full complement of systems, hardware, and software operating.
  • Perform pilot testing and monitor new systems and applications through post-implementation.
  • Perform software and hardware upgrades and rollouts.
  • Use the Help Desk ticketing system to manage daily workflow.
  • Escalate unsolved problems to senior staff and or management.
  • Reports weekly service desk ticket statistics to management.
  • Provide administration and troubleshooting support for SharePoint and Microsoft Exchange accounts.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field, and 1+ years of experience.
  • Outstanding technical knowledge to install, modify, monitor, test, and troubleshoot personal computer hardware and software.
  • Experience providing technical support via phone calls, remote, or face-to-face.
  • Experience utilizing ticketing systems. ServiceNow is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must have experience using Active Directory.
  • Experience utilizing Remote Desk Software to remote into the client's computer.
  • Experience providing new user setup for laptops.
  • Experience troubleshooting network-related issues.
  • Experience troubleshooting VPN connectivity.
  • Experience setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting LAN and PC/Laptop performance and security.
