Bindery Operator at Allegra Print Mail Signs in CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa

Job Description:

The Bindery Operator is responsible for completing bindery and finishing services for printed work in compliance with job specifications and quality standards. This person will work with a team to schedule workloads to meet customer time requirements. In addition, he or she will perform daily and weekly maintenance on all bindery equipment to ensure optimum output.

Responsibilities and Duties

Primary Responsibilities Include:

Operation of Bindery Equipment

• Operate Cutter.
• Operate Folder.
• Operate Drill, Stapler, Numbering Machine, and other bindery equipment.
• Comply with all OSHA safety requirements.
• Clean and maintain equipment following daily, weekly schedules.

Hand Work:

• Hand assemble (collate) pages in order.
• Hand fold pages to specifications.
• Stack and glue padding jobs.
• Insert pages.
• Punch and Spiral bind books.

Qualifications and Skills

Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED with experience or vocational/technical certification.
• Quality control.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Good mathematical skills.
• Able to apply written instructions to machine set-up and maintenance.
• Reliable attendance, punctuality and attention to work station.
• Meet or exceed minimum test results as specified by hiring manager.
• Valid Drivers License

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime

Shift availability:

• Day Shift (Required)

Pay:

• $17 per hour and up based on experience
