Job Description:

Must Have:
  • Experience working in a hospital or healthcare environment
  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Development: Guide and oversee the development of hospital and clinic philosophy, approaches, and policies related to compensation, benefits, employee relations, and training initiatives.
  • Contract Negotiations: Represent the hospital in contract negotiations and provide leadership to management negotiation teams. Oversee the administration of labor agreements and ensure compliance with hospital and clinic people services policies.
  • Legal and Compliance: Consult with legal counsel on union contract issues, legal problems, lawsuits, and compliance matters.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop goals and objectives for the company and Physician Group related to People Services. Establish and implement policies and procedures that align with the overall mission, values, and strategic direction of the hospital and clinics.
  • Human Resources Management: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends in human resource management. Lead the People Services team in strategic and operational planning to address immediate and long-term HR needs.
  • Relationship Building: Build and sustain consultative relationships with senior leaders. Consult on organizational assessment, employee relations, talent acquisition, workforce planning, and change leadership to enhance organizational capability.
  • Change Management: Drive change through data-driven insights and influence. Serve as a change champion for People Services initiatives and functional strategies.
  • Organizational Design: Design efficient organizational structures that support business strategies, including compliance with D & A requirements.
  • Coaching and Advisory: Coach senior leadership and employees on policy and procedure, conflict resolution, and change management to foster a fair and equitable work environment. Act as a trusted advisor, gathering and analyzing data to drive solutions that improve employee engagement and reduce turnover.
  • Union Relations: Foster positive working relationships with unions and their representatives. Interpret and administer policies in accordance with collective bargaining agreements. Coordinate and assist in contract negotiations and ongoing administration.
  • Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments and provide actionable advice and feedback. Generate reports and analytics to identify trends and promote positive employee relations.
  • Employee Engagement: Analyze data to identify trends and address concerns with management. Participate in employee orientation, present content, and engage with new hires.
  • Training and Development: Remain current on state and federal employment laws and regulations. Conduct training on company policies, benefits, coaching techniques, and communication. Provide input for training sessions on key employee-related topics.
  • Customer Service: Work closely with People Services generalists, recruiters, and assistants to deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients. Partner with other functional areas as needed to resolve internal customer issues.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in senior HR leadership roles, with a strong understanding of compensation, benefits, employee relations, and training.
  • Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiations and labor relations.
  • Strong knowledge of legal and compliance issues related to employment law.
  • Experience in strategic planning and organizational development.
  • Excellent interpersonal and consultative skills, with the ability to build relationships and drive change.
