The fixed asset accounting clerk is accountable for recording the cost of newly acquired fixed assets, tracking existing fixed assets, recording depreciation, and accounting for the disposition of fixed assets. This is a union position.
Primary Responsibilities:
Records fixed asset acquisitions, retirements, disposals, and transfers.
Sets up SAP internal order numbers and monitors capital project expenses/approvals.
Maintains production reporting system for both actual performance and standards.
Supports month end close process by preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and service accrual listing.
Assists weekly with UKG/Dimensions payroll updates.
Prepares Sales and Use tax return monthly and Manufacturing Property tax schedules/returns annually.
Reviews and updates the Non-Paper Sales system for off-quality paper and by-product sales.
Monitors, updates and responds to order & shipping acknowledgements regarding price, quantity, and lead times.
Prepares various other reports and schedules as requested.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Technical Competencies:
High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent required
Minimum Associates degree in Accounting; other degrees such as Business or Finance may be considered, or a combination of education and/or experience in a related accounting/finance role
Demonstrated ability for data analysis, reporting and assembling documents using high level applications of Microsoft Excel and related
Working knowledge of accounting functions, payroll system(s), math and calculation skills-UKG/Dimensions and SAP are a plus
Excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication skills
Ability to work some weekends and overtime
Basic office skills
