Job Overview:

We are seeking a Test Engineer to join our team in Lowell, MA. The Test Engineer will be responsible for transitioning new products from engineering to production. You will design and implement production test fixtures, develop test procedures, and drive automation and efficiency in the production testing process. You will also collaborate closely with engineering teams to enhance design quality, implement design validation, and automate verification processes. This is a multidisciplinary role that requires both technical skills and a practical, problem-solving mindset.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Transition to Production: Ensure smooth handover of product designs to the production team, managing all testing aspects to ensure high-quality manufacturing.
  • Product Design Validation: Design and maintain automated testing for software, firmware, hardware, mobile (Android/iOS), and web applications.
  • Test Fixture Design & Implementation: Design, develop, and maintain test fixtures and automated test equipment for production.
  • Test Procedure Development: Create detailed, efficient, and reliable test procedures for production, ensuring repeatability and accuracy in testing.
  • Production Test Automation: Drive efficiency in production by implementing automated testing solutions, reducing manual processes.
  • Design Quality: Collaborate with engineering teams to improve design robustness through comprehensive verification testing strategies. Implement CI/CD pipelines and develop unit tests for software, firmware, and mobile/web applications.
  • Design Validation and Verification: Design and maintain automated testing for software, firmware, hardware, mobile (Android/iOS), and web applications.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement in both production and engineering testing workflows. Utilize tools such as FlaUI for C# desktop automation, MCUXpresso (an Eclipse-based IDE) for firmware development, and GitHub for version control and collaboration.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of electronics manufacturing and test processes.
  • Experience in automated testing for software, firmware, hardware, mobile (Android/iOS), and web applications.
  • Proficiency in programming languages, including C, C++, C#, SQL

• Ability to design and implement test fixtures and automated test systems.
  • Knowledge of design validation and verification techniques, with an emphasis on automation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach to technical challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally within a small team.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the fire alarm or emergency communication equipment industry.
  • Familiarity with design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for testability (DFT) principles.
  • Familiarity with FlaUI or other C# desktop automation tools.
  • Experience with MCUXpresso (Eclipse-based IDE) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols and hardware testing tools.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and unit test development.
• Familiarity with GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
• Familiarity with AWS and cloud technologies
