The Technical Estimator is responsible for quoting opportunities for potential new business, supporting current business and developing new vendors for new capabilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review and assess all RFQs to determine if they are a fit for our company.
Prepare accurate, complex RFQs in a timely fashion.
Search for new vendors (raw material, outside processing, etc.) or solutions to address various requirements of specific RFQs.
Ability to understand cost structure of producing parts in a manufacturing environment.
Assist with inside quoting activity focusing on cost-saving opportunities.
Primary interface supporting Govgistics platform; preparing and leading the RFQ process for new business opportunities.
Other special related projects assigned from time to time
QUALIFICATIONS, (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):
Strong attention to detail is a must.
Excellent planning, organizational, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Proficiency in the English language; both spoken and written.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Ability to determine the process steps, with the help of production, of multiple parts/process items.
Computer skills including Excel and exposure to CAD software a plus.
Ability to coordinate and act as a liaison with other departments, sales representatives, and customers.
Reliable, responsible, self-motivated, and disciplined.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet fixed deadlines on a consistent basis.
Job shop or contract manufacturing experience a plus.
