Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Columbia City, Indiana. In this role, you will play a crucial part in elevating our manufacturing processes to new levels of safety, quality, and efficiency. You will work closely with our engineering and production teams to optimize assembly and testing procedures, improve manufacturing capabilities, and maintain our commitment to excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; apply knowledge of product design, metal fabrication, assembly processes, testing procedures and tooling.
  • Develop and refine manufacturing processes using lean principles, focusing on assembly and test operations.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to define product specifications and facilitate the quoting and purchasing of equipment, materials, and parts.
  • Improve manufacturing capabilities and efficiencies through lean continuous improvements.
  • Ensure product and process quality by designing test methods and measuring process capabilities.
  • Provide manufacturing decision-making information by analyzing production, material, and labor costs.
  • Develop capital expenditure requirements to support capacity expansion and manufacturing efficiency improvements.
  • Assist in maintaining existing equipment to ensure maximum manufacturing uptime.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Program PLC's for our test cells to enhance testing and production capabilities.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing professional networks.
  • Create and maintain job routings and process documents
  • Contribute positively to the team with a professional attitude.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering (IE), Industrial Engineering Technology (IET), Mechanical Engineering (ME), or Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) highly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of experience with 3D and 2D CAD software
  • Willing to learn and use forklift/ scissor lifts

The production environment varies with outside weather conditions and internal machinery resulting in hot, cold, or humid conditions at times. At times, there are fumes or airborne particles present in the production areas. Working near moving mechanical parts and powered industrial equipment. The noise level in the production areas is moderate to loud.

This is an onsite role located in Columbia City, IN.

Working hours will align with our first shift production schedule, starting at 7 AM.
