Job Description:

The Continuous Improvement Manager (Process/Product) will be a key contributor to the quality organization and heavily influence the overall quality of the ZincFive family of products. This role will develop a continuous improvement team to support both process and product improvement. This role is responsible for integrating and leading both local and global task force teams in the effective resolution of quality issues and other challenges utilizing the appropriate solution methods such as Lean Six Sigma, APQP, or 8D problem solving. This is a hybrid role working both remote and onsite at ZincFive headquarters in Tualatin, Oregon and reports to the Quality Manager.

Continuous Improvement Manager Job Duties:
  • Actively lead and implement key projects to improve product and process quality, reduce costs, increase productivity, and improve cycle time by reducing wasted time, rework, etc. resulting in significant business improvement and customer satisfaction
  • Provide management with project status updates, feedback, and appropriate reporting on key responsibilities and objectives
  • Consult with leaders and teams across the company to identify, diagnose, and problem solve
  • Support of deployment of Black Belt and Green Belt resources where needed
  • Work with leadership to select and prioritize projects to ensure work aligns with strategic goals
  • Lead, run or support strategic Black Belt, 8D, and APQP projects across the company
  • Mentor, facilitate, and coach problem solving methodologies including Lean Six Sigma, 8D, and APQP

Requirements:
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
  • Extensive experience (8+ years) in manufacturing, design, and business environments
  • 5+ years of experience with leading Lean or Six Sigma improvement projects or application of the associated tools
  • Proven team leadership skills and ability to influence others at all levels of an organization
  • Strong analytical skills to deal with data, descriptive, statistical, and graphical analyses
  • Be a connector to bring the right expertise together, value diversity
  • Strong character capable to deal with all aspects of change management
  • Excellent root cause analysis problem solving skills (DMAIC, 8D, A3, 3 Legged 5 Why)
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, changing and small startup company environment
  • Ability to travel in the U.S. and internationally, if needed

Preferred Experience/Skills:
  • Product or industry-specific experience such as battery manufacturing, battery backup, or uninterruptable power supplies
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline of electrical, mechanical, chemical, industrial or equivalent years of relevant experience
  • Project Management Certification
  • Speak, read, and write in Mandarin

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Work involves sitting, standing, bending, occasional walking and lifting to 30 pounds

  • Normal office, manufacturing, and lab environments
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment when required
  • Travel by air, car, bus, or train.
