Job Description:

The IT Help Desk Technician II provides daily support to computer users throughout the organization. Primary responsibility is resolving more complex end user problems, which are unable to be resolved by Tier I. Responds to queries, runs diagnostic programs, isolates problems, and determines and implements solution.

Responsibilities:
  • Be an escalation point for issues that are unable to be resolved by Tier I.
  • Provide technical support for end users (employees, contractors, and sometimes customers) as it relates to corporate IT solutions and equipment.Provide technical support primarily over the phone, remote access, or email.
  • Help Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems.
  • Install, upgrade, repair, and monitor software and hardware.
  • Manage all user endpoints and asset inventory.
  • Manage software license assignments related to end-user computing.
  • Responsible for maintaining end-user operating systems, business applications, endpoint security tools, various AD maintenance tasks, email, and licensing.
  • Solicit approvals for access requests.
  • Image new computers to company standard installation.
  • Procurement of hardware and software for end users.
  • Support company mobile phones and smartphones.
  • Run diagnostic programs to resolve problems.
  • Walk customers through problem-solving process.
  • Triage issues and solve or escalate them as needed to other team members.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure issues have been resolved.

Qualifications:
  • Good rapport with team members and with other department's staff.
  • Team player with the ultimate goal of a satisfied user.
  • Time Management as well as Project Management skills.
  • BS/BA in IT, CS, or a similar field.
  • A+, VCP, MCSE.
  • Problem-solving skills with a strong drive to learn.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and motivation to advance in the profession.
  • Security-minded and process-oriented approach.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Customer-oriented and good-natured.
  • 2+ years of intermediate experience in Windows Domain and Active Directory administration.
  • 2+ years intermediate-level experience in Virtualization (Servers and VDI).
  • 2+ years intermediate-level experience in Network LAN/WAN administration (routers, switches, access points).
  • Experience in Citrix Xenapp and Xendesktop.
  • Experience in Network Security (Firewalls, VPNs, Data Encryption, Endpoint Protection, Vulnerability Management, Access Control).
  • 2+ years of end-user support experience.
  • Experience with VOIP phone systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
