A DAY IN THE LIFE
Enthalpy Analytical, is part of the larger organization, Montrose Environmental Group, is comprised of over 9 laboratories servicing air, water, soil, tobacco, and toxicology testing. Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance.As a key member of the Durhamteam, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
Quantitative sample analysis by Gas Chromatography using a variety of detectors
Preparation of data summaries for inclusion in client reports.
Sample and standard preparation
Instrument calibration and validation
Instrument maintenance and troubleshooting
Maintaining organized records of sample preparation and analysis, equipment maintenance and data collected off site
Overhead projects designed to improve efficiency of, or accuracy of analyses
Method development aimed at analytical optimization and validating sampling approaches for clients
Communicating relevant updates to applicable people in a timely manner
Performing other duties and responsibilities as prescribed by the Company
Compliance with Enthalpy's Quality Assurance Program and other policies
Compliance with Company's Health and Safety Plan
Occasional split shift and/or weekend duties
Other duties as assigned
YOUR EXPERTISE & SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field.
Minimum of 1-2 years GC experience preferred
Experience with ChemStation software
Experience in FTIR analysis
Without supervision, they must be able to routinely meet QA/QC requirements for the assays they perform.
Documentation, timeliness, and throughput must meet the standard of the laboratory.
Must be able to describe the operation of the instrument and/or the chemistry involved in the assays they perform.
Strong instrument maintenance and troubleshooting skills are needed.
