Job Summary:

Orchard Post Acute, a leading skilled nursing facility in Fresno, CA, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee and manage the clinical operations of our facility. The DON will be responsible for ensuring that the highest standard of care is delivered to our residents while maintaining compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with a passion for enhancing the quality of life for residents and a proven track record in skilled nursing or long-term care settings.
Key Responsibilities:



  • Leadership and Management: Direct, supervise, and support the nursing department, ensuring that all nursing staff are delivering quality care in accordance with Orchard Post Acute's standards and policies.


  • Quality Care and Compliance: Monitor resident care and services to ensure compliance with regulations and standards, including infection control, resident rights, and quality assurance measures.


  • Staff Development and Training: Recruit, train, and mentor nursing staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.


  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for residents.


  • Resident and Family Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for residents and their families, addressing concerns, and providing updates on care and services.


  • Budget and Resource Management: Oversee departmental budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation to ensure efficient and effective operations.


  • Policy and Procedure Development: Create, implement, and regularly review nursing policies and procedures to ensure they meet the needs of the residents and align with current best practices.


  • Performance Improvement: Lead performance improvement initiatives, utilizing data and feedback to identify areas for enhancement in clinical care and service delivery.


  • Crisis Management: Respond to and manage any clinical emergencies or incidents, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up actions.

Qualifications:


  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration (preferred).


  • Licensure: Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.


  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing leadership experience, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care environment.


  • Skills: Strong clinical knowledge, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively with staff, residents, and families.


  • Knowledge: Familiarity with state and federal regulations related to skilled nursing facilities, including Title 22 and Medicare/Medicaid guidelines.
