Job Title: Marketing Communications Specialist

Department: Marketing

Reports To: AVP of Marketing

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Grade: 8

Summary

The Marketing Communications Specialist assists the AVP of Marketing in the coordination and execution of marketing, communications, event management, and public relations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. The employee is expected to perform other tasks, duties and trainings as dictated by their manager.

Content

  • Develops and updates content of Rio Grande CU’s website, newsletter and other member-facing sites with financial articles, promotions, product updates, FAQs, and current disclosures.
  • Write content for and respond to posts on social media sites; respond to and maintain internal employee informational sites
  • Assist with editing and proofreading.
  • Ability to utilize Adobe Suite – InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
  • Utilize marketing data analytics tools

Campaigns and Events

  • Coordinate the creation and production of marketing, communication and packaging materials
  • Coordinate marketing campaigns with sales activities
  • Coordinate booth preparation.
  • Attend RGCU-related events as directed by AVP of Marketing
  • Assist in implementing public relations programs.
  • Coordinate involvement in community organizations and events and support membership development initiatives
  • Coordinate execution of marketing strategies, materials and programs within the branch, online and through selected media.
  • Develop and cultivate relationship with endorsements, local organizations, businesses, key community leaders, and local officials to increase field of membership and exposure in the community

Production/Fulfillment/Coordination/Inventory

  • Coordinate activities of production team, in order to carry out approved campaigns within budget and time limitations.
  • Coordinate various marketing fulfillment duties and systems including but not limited to direct mail, packages, newsletters, and other marketing literature and software.
  • Track and maintains inventory of marketing materials and branch display items.
  • Maintain inventory of image resource files and artwork and maintains marketing literature, archive files, and sample files.
  • Create and maintain lobby maps for each RGCU lobby location in order to ensure a pleasant, compliant and consistent in-person member experience.
  • Conduct quarterly lobby audits in order to ensure adherence to lobby maps and compliance guidelines.
  • Track marketing campaign performance and continuously analyzes data to improve outcomes

  • Proactively approach issues and offer creative solutions that will make doing business with RGCU easier
  • Assist in any other areas as directed by the AVP of Marketing, VP of Administrative and Support Services, Senior Management and/or President/CEO.
  • Report all suspicious activity to the Risk Management department via the compliance group email.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Experience- 6 months to 2 years related experience.

Education- 2-year college degree or specialized course of study OR 2 years related experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools. Additionally, should have knowledge of HTML, CSS and web moderation.
