The On-Site Lead Technician will perform functions to safely supervise, repair, direct and coordinate performance of the employees involved with the service and repair of transportation, hydraulic and other solid waste collection and/or processing equipment.

Overview:

Field Duties:
• Use a gas leak detection instrument (FID and PID) and an Optical Gas Imaging Camera (FLIR). Search for leaks and record results. Will provide the training and equipment.
• Visually inspect sewer components against regulatory standards. Will provide the training.
• Ability to spend up to 8 hours walking and monitoring in the field. A typical day will be 6 hours in the field and 2 hours in the office.
• Ability to climb two stories of ladders or stairs several times during the day.
• Ability to coordinate inspections and communicate issues to other contractors involved in the BWON program.
Office Duties:
• Compile data in spreadsheets as assigned. Perform simple calculations (totals, averages, differences). Draw conclusions based on acceptable limits and trends.
• Prepare simple emails with recommendations based on the compiled data.
• The candidate should be familiar with the basics of computers, spreadsheets, word processing, and emails. Will provide training on spreadsheet calculations, file management, and specific software.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:
• At a minimum, the candidate needs a high school degree with strong interest and performance in science and math. Any additional degree or certification is welcome.
• Valid Class C Driver's License.
• Valid TWIC Card.
• Able to pass drug screen and DISA background.
• Experience in an industrial setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Capability to plan, prioritize and execute against tight timelines.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds and be able to pass, push, and pull to execute specific aspects of job duty.
• Must be able to stand / walk for extended periods of time.
• Climb ladders, scaffolding and into and out of trucks, tanks, and various other containers.
