Job Description:

AP Staff Accountant




About the Role:



Responsible for processing invoices and checks, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and internal controls. Prepares annual vendor tax forms.



Essential Duties:



- Process daily invoices and manage payment schedules.


- Log, review, and prioritize invoice packages; print and mail checks.


- Respond to inquiries on invoices and payment status; manage AP email.


- Research and resolve accounts payable issues.


- Assist with outgoing wire payments and monitor for completion.


- Input utilities and corporate expense invoices into the accounting system.


- Organize and maintain hard copy invoice files per retention policy.


- Maintain vendor information and prepare 1099 forms annually.


- Perform account analysis as needed.


- Execute clerical tasks including mail processing and filing.



Qualifications:



- Two years of college-level accounting courses or 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience; associate degree preferred.


- 1-2 years of accounts payable experience is a plus.


-Yardi or related systems preferred.



Skills:



- Strong PC proficiency, particularly in Excel and Word.


- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.


- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage pressure effectively.


- Experience with diverse groups is advantageous.



Hourly Rate: $28-$32 HR
