Mechanic

AHF Products has a job opportunity for Mechanic for to be located in Crossville, TN.  No travel required.

JOB DUTIES:

• Perform Preventative Maintenance and repairs on the following equipment:    


• B&T Loaders/Unloaders  


• Engravers/Saws  


• Conveying Belts  


• Belts  


• Grinding Units/Changing Grinder Shafts and Setup  


• Honing Machine  


• Drying/Blower Units  


• Systems Measuring Machines  


• Compenser  


• Sorting Table  


• Select Stacker  


• Boxer/Glue Machine  


• Box Stacker  


• Bander  


• Robot  


• Water System/Water Chemical Levels  


• Knowledge of Photocell/Proximity Switches; Motors/Gearboxes; Calipers; Electro Valves/Air Lines/Cylinders; Operator Forklift.  


• Adhere to proper PPE/LOTO.  


• Maintain ongoing log of repairs and any repairs that need to be done in the future.  


• Work closely with the Maintenance Department and Supervisor in coordinating work to be completed on the lines.  


• Maintain, repair, and rebuild any parts and equipment, etc., such as guides, belts, filters, switches, chains, sprockets, pulleys, suction cups, foam heads, changing light bulbs, centering wheels.  


• Work closely with Stockroom for parts locations and availability and adhere to stockroom procedures.  


• Completing task items put on the Gemba boards.  


• Train and coach mechanics.  


• Work on processes and improvements to ensure they are correct and in place.  


• Train employees on how to safely use machinery and that employees comply with procedures.  


• Participate in the hiring process, recognizing and recruiting good candidates, and ensuring that employees are properly trained.  


• Maintain accurate records.  


• Communicate, adhere to, and enforce company policies and procedures.  


• Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace.  


• Perform any other duties that may be required or assigned.  

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Certification or equivalent work experience in maintenance   


• Must be at least 18 years of age   


• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail   


• Strong problem-solving skills   


• Positive attitude and strong work ethic   


• Strong verbal and written communication skills   


• Good interpersonal skills in dealing with employees, management, and vendors 


• Ability to work in a team environment   


• Must be available to work overtime as necessary and work other shifts as necessary, may be called in during abnormal hours   


• Must pass a mandatory pre-employment drug test, physical, and criminal background check   

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

• Frequently climbing, bending, standing, walking at a brisk pace 8+ hours a day, squatting, reaching, pushing and pulling  


• Occasionally lifting 80 pounds, either alone or with the assistance of another employee, in conformity with lifting techniques detailed in safety policies and training materials  


• Frequent dexterity with hands for use of tools  


• Frequently Vision must be sufficient to see tools and equipment clearly  


• Frequently hearing with the use of ear protection
