Job Description

Role Summary: The successful candidate will work closely with their team and their customers to create and communicate the project bill of material, project budget, and project schedule. Additionally, this position is responsible for sharing lessons learned from previous projects and assisting the other project managers with issues. 

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide customers with complete and comprehensive project information and timely updates throughout the project.
  • Assists customers in person, over the phone or internet with Summit product questions, quotations, and orders.
  • Pays close attention to detail to ensure project success as measured by outlined scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Discretionary authority is used to determine and provide customers product pricing, negotiate pricing with suppliers, purchase materials specific to the projects
  • Partner with CSRs, Account Managers, and Service Center leadership as needed to maintain levels of excellence throughout Summit
  • Build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Negotiate profitable pricing with both customers and suppliers.
  • Proactively follow up on customer orders, challenges, and needs
  • Resolve customer concerns and issues as efficiently and effectively as possible.
  • Work closely with the Expeditor and Documentation team to submit project documentation in a timely manner.


Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 3+ years of progressive experience in project, program, and/or portfolio management
  • 1-3 years of experience handling the complete quotations process
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written
  • Time management strong ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility ability to effectively adapt to change and perform duties with minimal supervision.

 

Beneficial Skills and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of customer service experience in the electrical distribution industry
  • Experience in Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working with Smartsheet and/or MS Project.
  • Previous successful experience in SAP
  • Completion of EPEC Gold program
  • Knowledge and understanding of local market
  • Extensive knowledge of related products
  • Relationships with local manufacturers representatives

 

Physical Challenges:

  • Consistent sitting for hours at a time
  • Consistent use of keyboard and mouse
  • Must be able to lift 5 pounds on a regular and consistent basis
  • Ability to climb stairs on occasion
  • Majority of job is located inside office during regular office hours of operation.
  • Some travel required.
