Position Summary

The Audiovisual (AV) Project Manager is responsible for overseeing project teams and managing client communications to ensure successful project execution from start to finish. This role involves interpreting project scope, managing costs, scheduling, identifying risks, and ensuring seamless execution through planning, commissioning, and closure.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction-focused project management, with the ability to resolve issues and make timely, effective decisions. Key responsibilities include coordinating with customers, installation teams, technical staff, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery. Excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask, and handle pressure are essential, along with being self-motivated, organized, and personable.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or higher. A degree in Business Administration, or Project Management is preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience within the AV/IT or a related industry in a project management role
  • Must attain an AVIXA CTS credential within one year
  • Must attain a PMP certification from PMI within a year.
  • Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office, and project management software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with effective negotiation abilities.
  • Proven ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong planning, organizational, and implementation skills to ensure timely project completion.
  • Experience in interpreting and creating instructions in various formats, including written, oral, diagrams, and schedules.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills that align with company core values.
  • Must be willing to travel occasionally for overnight stays, which could last from one night to several weeks
  • Able to work in diverse environments, from finished executive boardrooms to active construction sites, with appropriate attire required for each setting.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage project assignments for Avidex-designed and consultant-designed AV/IT projects.
  • Collaborate with the estimating team to assess resource needs, including labor, logistics, materials, and specialty tools.
  • Assist in conducting site surveys as required by the estimating team.
  • Independently or collaboratively plan, coordinate, schedule, execute, and complete multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to each project’s time, cost, and scope constraints.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and decision-maker during the project execution phase as assigned.
  • Develop and manage the project execution schedule, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring progress to ensure timely completion.
  • Oversee the implementation team assigned to each job, adjusting team structure based on the project's scale and complexity.
  • Assign individual responsibilities and maintain accountability within the project team.
  • Ensure the project implementation team has all necessary documentation, instructions, schedules, materials, and tools to successfully execute the project scope.
  • Prepare and update essential project documentation throughout each project.
  • Coordinate the equipment procurement schedule with the overall project timeline.
  • Perform diagnostic troubleshooting on AV/IT systems as needed and generate installation testing and punch lists for the integration team’s completion.
  • Ensure all project tasks are finalized and provide customer training on the systems implemented.
  • Document all changes to the record set and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, standards, and conventions.
  • Assist management with OSHA training, compliance, and reporting requirements.
  • Adhere to safety standards as mandated by OSHA and management.
  • Strive to achieve a 75% billable/chargeable workload by providing effective project management and technical support.
