Responsibilities

Database Design and Implementation:

  • Design and implement database structures, including tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures.
  • Collaborate with developers and business analysts to design databases that meet application requirements.

Database Administration:

  • Proven experience with Real Application Clusters 19c and ASM
  • Support Oracle Data Guard solution for data migration and replication
  • Oracle Goldengate experience with microservices knowledge
  • Knowledge on EBS R12.2 applications and related databases, cloning, patching, workflow, and a good understanding of the EBS stack
  • Perform data migration between various instances for development and Production Support teams.
  • Perform Oracle Apps and Database housekeeping functions (i.e. installation, upgrades, backups, etc.)
  • Provide technical support to application development teams. The DBA is usually the point of contact for all Oracle-related requests.
  • Perform installation/maintenance of Oracle Enterprise Manager, monitor all databases and fine-tune performance using OEM
  • Perform quarterly Patch Set Updates and Critical Patch Updates as per Oracle standards
  • Perform regular database backups, restorations, and recovery processes.

Data Security and Integrity:

  • Implement and enforce data security measures, including user access controls and encryption.
  • TLS/SSL certificate implementation/renewal understanding, TDE encryption knowledge.
  • Ensure data integrity through the enforcement of data validation rules and regular audits.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure data availability and integrity.

Performance Monitoring and Tuning:

  • Monitor database performance and identify bottlenecks, implementing solutions to improve performance.
  • Conduct regular database tuning to optimize performance and reduce resource consumption.
  • Generate reports and dashboards to monitor database performance and resource usage.

Support and Troubleshooting:

  • Provide support to development teams and other users for database-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database errors and performance issues.
  • Be part of on-call support or after-hours work during critical incidents or maintenance windows

Automation:

  • Automation experience using Ansible playbooks and similar
  • Scripting experience using bash or python


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems/Information Technology.
  • More than 8 years of hands-on experience as a Core Oracle DBA
  • Architecture and network experience
  • Expert in troubleshooting cluster, database, and application issues
  • Oracle EXADATA experience is a plus.
  • Observability & Monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus is a plus
  • Azure/AWS/OCI Certifications is a plus
  • Unix administration, knowledge on shell scripting and server hardening procedures
  • Experience administering cloud-based databases (e.g., AWS, Azure or OCI) is a plus.
