Bilingual/Spanish -Human Resources Generalist Job Title: Bilingual/Spanish - Human Resources Generalist Location: On-site, Waltham with on-day weekly stationed in our Boston office Position Type: Full-time
Summary of position: The Baker Center for Children and Families (also known as Judge Baker Children's Center), promotes the best possible mental health of children and families through the integration of research, intervention, training, and policy. The Human Resources Generalist will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities. The Human Resources Generalist will help manage the day-to-day functions of the Human Resources department to include recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, policy enforcement, performance management and ad hoc HR projects for The Baker Center. The Human Resources Generalist position reports directly to the Director of Human Resources and provides effective customer (employee) experience for all Baker Center employees. This position is responsible for supporting the smooth operation of the Human Resources department. The Human Resources Generalist supports employees throughout the agency. The Human Resources Generalist is expected to work one day in the Boston location; and may work additional days in Boston location when needed for events, meetings, etc. If you are looking for a place to get involve and be a part of a great organization, Baker Center is the place for you. Essential duties:
  • Creating, updating, and applying all human resources policies and company guidelines are in compliance with standards and law.
  • Oversees and manages all benefits administration to include 403(b), employee education, invoice management, leave of absence, liaison with carriers.
  • Ensures all government (local, state, and federal) compliance documents are in compliance, includes multi-state and remote worker notices.
  • Investigates and maintains workers' compensation claims; maintains HIPAA compliant files for each claim.
  • Oversees the completion and/or posting of the annual OSHA reporting.
  • Assists the vendor with follow up questions and needed information.
  • Keeps up to date with industry trends, HR best practices, and current employment legislation and regulations.
  • Assists Director of Human Resources with completion of all government reporting requirements.
  • Processes unemployment claims, file protest charges when applicable.
  • In collaboration with other HR team members, oversees, coordinates, and conducts new hire onboarding, orientation, exit meetings with terminating employees.
  • Works with Finance department to address accuracy in employee records and provide information for employee verification of employment.
  • Oversees verification of employee eligibility to work in the US using the E-Verify system.
  • Notifies the Administrative Departments of new hires and exiting employees to ensure set up and collection of equipment is coordinated successfully.
  • Assists in the coordination of Human Resource events: Quarterly Staff Meetings, Flu Shots, Wellness Initiatives, Performance Management Process.
  • Special projects as needed and directed: research and compiles data to complete requested projects on compensation, employee relations, performance management, benefits, and other requests for employee data.
Qualifications Education:
  • Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Management, or related fields.
  • Additional experience in Human Resources may be substituted for educational requirements.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years human resources working in behavioral health, Social Work, Clinical or Education is required.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish strongly encouraged.
  • Experience in benefits, leave of absence, performance management preferred.
  • Experience working in HR with a not-for-profit preferred.
  • Experience working with HRIS systems, Paycor experience a plus.
Training:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.), HCM and familiarity with ATS and products required. Must be comfortable learning new technical systems as needed.
  • Understanding of HR best practices, trends, regulatory changes, and innovative technologies in human resources and employment law.
