Job Description:

A Second City Host is responsible for the initial, warm greeting, ticket processing, relaying COVID protocols to Guests, seating, maintaining accurate Guest seating records and saying goodbye to all Guests. They will assist with coat check duties as directed. Our Hosts are in charge of seating the room in a manner that maximizes the Guests experience while they are also a critical component of preserving the sanctity and art within the theaters.
Essential Functions:
Warmly greet and seat Guests in their appropriate seatsMake Guests comfortable with small conversation and pleasant personaAssist with messages and ticketing questionsAvailable to work a variety of hours, days and shifts, including weekendsSafely and effectively move chairs, tables, highchairs and booster seatsSafely and effectively use and operate all necessary tools and equipmentAbility to communicate in English in order to perform and follow job requirements in written and spoken directionAbility to multi-task calmly and effectively in a busy, stressful environmentWork in a confined, crowded space of variable noise and temperature levelsAble to move and lift 25 poundsAbility to stand and walk for an entire shift and move safely through all areas of the theaters, which may include stairs, uneven or slick surfaces

Ensure the overall Guest experience exceeds expectationsGreet Guests with a warm, sincere smileUse tact and good judgement when dealing with Guest challenges and respond to Guest needs with patience and courtesyAssist with clearing, cleaning and resetting tablesUnderstand and respond knowledgeably to questions about the theaters, ticketing and menu offeringsProficiency in the use and operation of all necessary tools and equipment, including the check-in and radio systemsComply with all safety and sanitation guidelines and proceduresSuccessfully complete alcohol awareness trainingFollow all rules, policies, procedures and conditions of employment, including those outlined in the Employee HandbookGet along well with others and be a team player
Physical Functions:
Ability to stand/walk a minimum of 8 hours or as neededMust be able to exert well-paced and frequent mobility for periods of up to 8 hours or as neededBe able to lift up to 20 pounds frequentlyMulti-level facility; must efficiently manage walking up/down stairs for up to 8 hours or as neededWill frequently reach, feel, bend, stoop, carry, finely manipulate and key in dataWork in both warm and cool environmentsHigh levels of noise from music, customer and employee traffic
