In this position, you will primarily be responsible for managing DHLeC ICS (Internal Control Systems) over financial reporting and management group initiatives in North America. You will conduct ongoing reviews of organization controls, operating procedures, and compliance with policies and regulations. This position will perform managerial professional assessment of Internal Controls and Risk Management; assess the adequacy and extent of controls designed to safeguard organization assets; and compile and issue report detailing conclusions and providing recommendations for improvements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Drive continuous improvement in internal control scoping and design such as accounting processes, payroll accounting, and procurement (P2P). Identify and anticipate weaknesses and recommend solutions to mitigate issues and strengthen processes. Improve current risk management processes and align with Group and Divisional standards. Evaluate potential financial impact of control deficiencies and develop risk mitigation strategies. Develop and maintain clear and concise risk assessment and control documentation. Identify opportunities to leverage systems and automation in a practical and value-add way. Stay current on evolving trends in internal control guidance and practice. Serve as a trusted liaison for control owners, as well as for internal and external auditors. Collect evidence and document assessment of key controls on a monthly basis. Lead follow up activities related to corporate internal audit findings, including supporting functional leaders throughout the organization. Design and optimize internal controls associated new business processes, system changes, new regulatory standards, and potential acquisitions to ensure the adequacy of controls while maintaining process efficiency. Team with staff to re-engineer internal processes as part of DHL eCommerce Solutions’ digitalization and accounting transformation. Effectively position the Company’s internal control conclusions to internal and external auditors. Execute the development and delivery of internal control related training for the business to build knowledge and understanding of risks and controls. Participate in special projects as required. Communicate to Senior Management and Corporate office in Germany. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. 8+ years of relevant experience with SOX, audit and internal controls. Strong knowledge of internal audit and control frameworks (IIA, COSO, SOX). Strong knowledge of financial reporting and understanding of IFRS and US GAAP. Experience with multi-national accounting firms or CPA / CIA / CFE a plus. REQUIRED SKILLS: Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, including written and verbal communication. Capability to thrive in a fast-paced and highly demanding environment. Experience with large ERP systems (i.e. SAP, Oracle, etc.). PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical demands are consistent with a professional office setting. Regular sitting at work station for 25 – 75% of the work shift.
