A Day in the Life

We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Medical Affairs Specialist, focusing on Acute Care and Monitoring (ACM) Medical Education and Medical Science event execution. This position will be responsible for facilitating education and advisory board programs for Heath Care Professionals, focusing on the safe and effective use of our ACM products. The individual in this position plays a key role in leading the design, development and execution of local and national education strategies while collaborating across a broad cross-functional team, including Medical Science, Marketing and Sales teams. This individual is also responsible for building and maintaining strong customer relationships with a focus on continuous process improvement, driving strategy, and ensuring excellence in Medical Education and Medical Science events.

Position Responsibilities


  • Conducts and facilitates physician-led education and consulting activities

  • Develops, fosters and maintains key relationships with sales, operating units and healthcare professionals to understand local customer education needs and ensure innovative and effective education is brought to clinicians who are considering or utilizing our products

  • Partners with peers to facilitate faculty contracting, payments and honoraria letters for ACM medical education, society, medical science and advisory board events

  • Incorporates program execution best practices into all aspects of work

  • Develops and executes strategic projects that drive business impact and improve effectiveness of Medical Education and Medical Science efforts

  • Provides expert communication with internal and external partners including physician faculty and business leaders

  • Coordinates/participates in numerous tasks/projects in a fast-paced environment in an organized manner while meeting deadlines

  • Supports establishment and maintenance of customer relations with clinicians and external organizations

  • Order demo product and other needed supplies for medical education and society events

  • Work in all systems that align to Medical Education and Society events, including but not limited to the Teams, PCI, AMP, Smartsheet, and salesforce.com

  • Ensures medical education and medical science programs meet company and customer objectives

  • Ensure personal understanding of all quality policy and system items that are applicable. Follow all work/quality procedures to ensure quality system compliance and high-quality work

  • On-site support for national medical education, medical science and society events

Position Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications


  • Medical Industry experience preferred

  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Self-motivated to make recommendations and initiate assignments that will improve business processes

  • Flexible work hours to support Medical Education, Medical Science, and Economics, which may include evenings, nights, and weekends

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of PC software applications including Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$134,400.00 - $201,600.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
