POSITION SUMMARY

As a member of the Lean Center of Excellence, you will have the opportunity to influence the US Government Technology organization through customer-centric service delivery and operational excellence. This role will allow you to showcase your talent to lead, facilitate, and drive business process improvement initiatives while making a direct impact on the organization's agility.

This role requires the ability to influence and drive change. As a member of the Lean Center of Excellence, you will take an active role in helping the organization achieve top quality. Passion for problem solving and the ability to identify innovative solutions will be key to your success in this role.

You will have opportunities to interact with technology senior leadership on critical projects and work with a variety of cross-functional partners.

This position is in-office aligned and will require the flexibility to perform onsite 3 days per week if based within a commutable distance to a designated Cigna facility.

Primary Functions


  • Leads and manages cross-functional process improvement initiatives, leveraging lean agile best practices and a variety of approaches and tools.

  • Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing delivery practices.

  • Partners with cross-functional teams, coaches and technology stakeholders to define processes and designs sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable improvements.

  • Documents existing processes and conducts root cause analysis to identify pain points

  • Aligns with business and technology partners to prioritize improvement roadmaps.

  • Assists in engineering new business processes across various teams.

  • Provides input to work instructions, job aids, and training materials.

Key Qualifications


  • At least 8 years' experience in process improvement design/development

  • Six Sigma, lean or related certification

  • Familiarity with software delivery methodologies; agile experience preferred.

  • Ability to effectively interact with all professional levels, senior/executive leadership, stakeholders, and partners

  • Proven critical and strategic thinking skills; ability to identify, assess, and solve problems.

  • Excellent analytical skills, ability to perform data analysis, summarize findings and use data-driven insights to support proposed solutions.

  • Proficient using MS Office software, including PowerPoint and Visio. Advanced Excel skills a must.

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, embrace change, and work both independently and in conjunction with co-workers of all levels.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Excellent communication (oral and written), presentation, and facilitation skills.

  • Proficient documenting detailed meeting summaries for audience dissemination.

  • Bachelor's degree in technology, business, finance, health administration or related curriculum preferred; Master's degree preferred.
