Expected Duration: 6+ Months



Job Type: Full Time (>=40 HRS WEEKLY) - CONTRACT - Remote



Pay Range:$65/hr - $75/hr

Key responsibilities:

Duties and Responsibilities:





  • Responsible for managing medium to large scale and/or technically complex departmental and cross-functional product development projects.

  • Leads project teams from concept to post release with strong sense of urgency, utilizing company product launch process (stage-gate) with an understanding most new products are network connect and require a System level approach to product development and Project planning/execution

  • Project Scope may include connected products hardware, Firmware, Software Development, and/or Web & Mobile Applications (iOS/Android) from concept to post release.

  • Project activities may include facilitation of development Blitz or brainstorming Kaizen events, chair project meetings, update task, budget, and resource progress on weekly schedule updates, and logs issues, risks, Lessons learned, and documents mitigation plans for all critical path activities

  • Project Manager will lead with a steady focus on Scope Control, Schedule Updates, Budget tracking, and Risk Management throughout the life of the project.

  • Collaborates with engineering, product management, operations, supply chain, finance and all other stakeholders to identify and prioritize critical project milestones and deliverables.

  • Identifies and schedules project deliverables, milestones and daily task activities with tenacious follow up to ensure deliverables are delivered on-time

  • Pre-launch activities include supplier ramp-up and/or transition planning for production.

  • Leads weekly cross-functional project meetings and maintain minutes/notes/action items

  • Continuously gathers feedback from all project team members to track progress and mitigate risk.

  • Identifies project related issues and risks, documents all risks in the risk database, and escalates to sponsor's and Functional Management early to facilitate mitigation before they effect critical path.

  • Maintains vigilance of technical progress and risks mitigation for assigned projects, confers with technical personnel to resolve issues, and drives corrective actions.

  • Confers with project personnel to resolve problems. Not directly responsible for technical accuracy of design details but expected to have sufficient knowledge and awareness to recognize when technical problems may exist and to identity and initiate corrective actions.

  • Coordinates project activities with cross-functional team members to ensure project goals and requirements are met on schedule and within budget.

  • Prepares project status reports and facilitates both technical and non-technical meetings and design reviews in order to keep stakeholders up-to-date and able to support risk/issue mitigation requests

  • Develops and maintains technical and project documentation, including project/process deliverables.

  • Learns and master's all requirements of Pentair's stage-gate processes.

  • Works collaboratively with other Pentair global design centers, manufacturing plants and strategic suppliers as needed.

  • Documents all Risks, Issues, and lessons learned for continuous improvement

  • Projects may vary from New Product Development, Product improvements, transformation, value engineering, strategic sourcing, warranty reduction, or other initiatives.


Skills and Experience Requirements:





  • B.S. degree in Engineering, or other technical discipline, from an accredited institution (MBA or advanced technical degree is a plus).

  • Project Management education: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable.

  • 5+ years leading cross-functional project teams without direct supervisory responsibilities.

  • 3+ years of engineering design or manufacturing experience in a med-high volume production, product development environment.

  • 2+ years of managing project teams developing consumer connected products that may include hardware and with embedded firmware, software, and App is highly desirable.

  • Previous IoT connected product development experience is highly desirable (cloud/server services, Wi-Fi modules, C/C++ software bridges from product to the cloud).

  • Experience working with, developing, or managing the development of consumer mobile Apps (iOS/Android) as related to hardware deployment is desirable.

  • Highly detail oriented, organized, and organizationally agile individual preferred with innate/natural relationship building communication skills.

  • Knowledge of product development process (stage-gate, predictive, agile and hybrid methods)

  • Knowledge and experience in connected consumer product development

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
